The Cosmic Steward Series
The Cosmic Steward Series of “Guided Floats” was created
to enhance the Flotation experience and to help patients
achieve a variety of goals. Flotation REST is known to optimize
learning and is the ideal place to develop the skills of
relaxation, pain control, self-hypnosis and confidence building.
Each guided float program is a mixture of verbal guidance,
music, environmental sounds and silence.
All programs are $14.94 on CD and are 47.5 minutes long
unless otherwise noted.
Guided Float for the Novice
The Miracle of Flotation
(50 Minutes)
A guiding voice for the first time floater, easing into
the cocoon of solitude and exploring a few of the powerful
possibilities of the mind.
Guided Floats for Relaxation
And quiet breathing…
An introduction to diaphragmatic breathing and simple meditation
as a tool for relaxation. What better place to discover
our Buddha nature.
Breathing out tension
A further exploration into the use of the breath as a path
to deep relaxation and calm. This exercise was effective
for increasing lung function in a university study with
asthma patients.
PMR for Flotation
Progressive muscle relaxation is not usually taught in the
passive setting of flotation. However, with an emphasis
on subtle tension one becomes exquisitely aware of muscle
tension and learns to shrug it off.
Letting tension go
This program focuses on passive attention to muscle tension
and the release process by introducing the sensation of
gravity as a tool to facilitate relaxation.
Cumulus
A mixture of approaches that creates a spectacular sensation
of deep relaxation.

A version of the body scan meditation specifically for flotation.

An introduction to mind body techniques for controlling
pain.

A method for combining the powers of mind and flotation
to watch pain disappear as tension dissolves.

Using direct confrontation with physical pain with an attitude
of “surrender” to take back control over pain. This meditation
into pain uses the combination of breathing and heaviness
to release it.
Imaging pain away
Utilizing the natural trance produced by flotation to enhance
hypnotic images for pain relief.
